Group A on day 3 had a nice change of pace after 2 days of roofing. We went up into the mountains and began replacing the porch of one of our contractor’s brothers. Tearing down the old decking was a lot of fun and didn’t take much time. Our group got to use fun power tools and sledgehammers to knock over posts. But the difficult part was putting in a new patio.
The precision and focus we had for each support beam made the process drag on. After work, both groups had a relaxing evening, with tacos for dinner and some card games to wind down in the evening. It was a great day, and it felt good to help someone who meant so much to us like the contractors.
